Casino Revenues ContinueTto Drop, Led by Hollywood In Maryland Heights

No other casino in the St. Louis-market saw a bigger year-over-year revenue dip than Hollywood Casino, the St. Louis Business Journal reports. 

Hollywood, which is located in Maryland Heights, reported revenue of $19.7 million in April 2013. That's down 18 percent from April 2012, when the casino—then Harrah's Casino—the report said.

New QuikTrip to Open Next Week

May 2 has come and gone and the new QuikTrip (QT) located on Howdershell Road is not open. But all signs point to a grand opening soon.

Roofer That Scammed Florissant Residents Arrested

A man that police believe scammed Florissant residents into paying for roof repairs that were never made during the last several months is now in police custody and could face jail time.

Steven Robert Anderson, 35, who owns Griffin Roofing and Construction in Maryland Heights, is being charged with unlawful merchandise practice, a Class D felony, after police say he deposited a check worth $3,900 meant to serve as a downpayment for a roofing repair project and then never performed any work on the home.

Home Depot to Hire 975 Seasonal Associates in St. Louis Area

Home Depot is now accepting applications for seasonal positions in the St. Louis market. Available positions vary by store.

Seasonal associates will be assigned responsibilities based on their previous retail or home improvement experience and based on the needs of individual stores.

About half of The Home Depot’s seasonal hires transitioned into regular positions with the company last year.

St. Louis Outlet Mall Sets 3 p.m. Teen Curfew

St. Louis Outlet Mall, formerly St. Louis Mills, has amended it Parental Escort Policy it says to "capitalize on the success of the program."

Starting Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. on weekend nights, children 16 years of age and younger who are visiting the mall must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is 21 years of age or older.
