Florissant City Council to Consider Disc Golf Course, Pet Cemetery

The Florissant City Council will take its first look and consideration for the financing of a disc golf course in Florissant Monday night.

The Council will consider a bill that would appropriate $16,500 from the park improvement fund to capital additions for the disc golf course, which would be would be located at Dunegant Park, if approved.

Florissant Pet Cemetery Expansion Remains Uncertain

The owner of Imperial Crown Pet Cemetery faced another public hearing with the Florissant City Council Monday night, but not without a few more complications.

Rose Darnell presented her plan to expand her pet cemetery at No. 115 and No. 7 North Highway 67 and requested a special use permit to have the expansion in a R-4 zoning district, which is a residential zone.

Florissant Water Main Break Patched

A broken water main that has been gushing all day on Carmelita in Florissant is finally patched. Crews say that patch needs to settle for about four to six weeks before permanent repairs will hold.

The six inch, cast iron main was installed in the late 1950's or early 1960's.

Florissant City Council Approve Electrical Testing for City Buildings

The Florissant City Council approved an ordinance Monday night that would appropriate more than $25,000 for testing electrical equipment in city buildings. But that did not sit well with all councilors or residents.

The bill had been postponed until Monday’s meeting to be able to ask the administration more questions pertaining to the need of the testing.
