One of Florissant’s favorite traditions has announced its plans to expand itself westward.

Cinderella Project Of St. Louis

There's  a young women somewhere dreaming  of being a princess at an upcoming  prom. Some area teens don’t have the means to purchase a new dress for prom. Hope is on the way! The Cinderella Project and the Community Council of St. Louis are  making dreams come true.“ I really deserve to go to  the prom,that's the one day that during high school  a young girl can be a princess," said one high school senior.

During prom season  the Cinderella Project provides  dresses to 150 girls from the metro area who received a free gown, custom alterations and gifts of hairdos and makeovers for the day of their prom.
 
With the wave of a wand,  the Cinderella project  and the  Community Council  of St. Louis has collected hundreds  of new and gently worn dresses  .

A popular fall crop is haunted by this summer's wicked weather.  Heavy late spring rain and searing summer temperatures has put the pumpkin crop between two to three weeks behind schedule this year.  It’s estimated that only half the crop will be ready for the fall season.

St. Louis Mills Stores Raise Money For Tornado Relief

Shoppers are encouraged to visit St. Louis Mills and shop at 18 participating retailers during “Mills Means More Weekend of Giving Back,” with a goal of raising as much money as possible to benefit The Salvation Army’s tornado relief efforts. The more shoppers spend at participating retailers, the more money The Salvation Army and tornado victims will receive. Select retailers are giving up to 30% of all sales on Saturday and Sunday.

Mia Ginae' Watkins was born in 1993 in St.Louis, Missouri. She discovered at an early age that reading and writing stories would be her passion.

Through her writing, she found she could take herself to places where her imagination reigned supreme. Given a laptop in fifth grade, she began to believe that being an author or a storyteller would somehow be her destiny.

Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean you can’t get your bike fix. The 2011 Midwest Bicycle Expo and Swap Meet is your chance to revel in all things bicycle.

The $5 entry fee gives you access to bike shops, nonprofits, individuals and other bicycle-related businesses, each featuring a unique display of products and information.

The Expo is your chance to catch a sneak peak of next season’s bicycle goodies, search for that hard-to-find bike part, or find a great deal on your next bike.

The Expo will also feature a silent auction and the popular bike corral.
